Population size and genetic diversity of brown bears in Eastern Turkey
The aim of this project is to understand the demographic and genetic structure of sedentary and migratory bears within Eastern Anatolia using genome wide genetic markers and conduct quantitative genetic methods to calculate the probability of the establishment of sedentary behaviour due to the availability of anthropogenic food sources. Another aim of this study is to establish conservation programs that will be able to take into account different life history strategies to minimize bear human conflicts.
